Living Water

Friends in Christ,

Today's daily office gospel from John (4:1-26) brings the good news of Jesus' *living water* to us and to the Samaritan woman at the well. When He invites her, and us, to drink of this water and gain life eternal, He invites us to worship neither on the mountain nor in Jerusalem but right here and right now, for the Messiah has come and is here.

If we have the Living Water, shall we not be the bearers of this news to the world? Shall we not be the bearers of this life-giving witness? Shall we not, therefore, confront death and proclaim life ... IN THE HERE AND NOW?
