The Conspicuous Absence of Scott Hahm et al.

As the Synod of Bishops adjourned today, I was struck by the absence of the Converso Wunderkind Scott Hahm who is always trotted out by the Traditionalist Tridentialists ;) as the Oracle of Trent and Defensor Fidei of all things ultra-montane. (Forgive my verbosity, but the espresso is just now kicking in). Anyway, can anyone tell me if he was there (even in the capacity of auditore or janitore)? Was it just a silly little oversight on the Curia's Committee For Hospitality or did three spirits visit Benedict (the ghost of Scripture Past - Abraham Heschel, the ghost of Scripture Present - Fr. Raymond Brown, and the ghost of Scripture Future - Rosemary Ruether) and forbid him to attend such an august gathering of exegetes. Somewhat like treating him as the poor relation. And Mother Angelica must have been somewhat apoplectic at the affront and was sent to her Jose Escriva shrine with perplexity and shock. Oh well, for once I was quite pleased by the collegial tone of the gathering and I must admit, I was quite impressed with the Holy Father's successful Synod. So, with Scriptura & Traditio intact, let us proceed brothers AND sisters. Amen

You'll also notice that

You'll also notice that besides Scott Hahn, they didn't invite Peter Kreeft, Mark Shea, or any of the other verbose Catholic "apologists" who are always ready to tell us what the Bible says and, more importantly, what we are to believe.

There are different ways of

There are different ways of looking at the bible. One looks at the bible and says 'there, it says in the bible and that's what I think' another says 'science archeology, history and science tells me this. How do I read the bible in light of that science? I think Dr Hahn is more the first type than the second. The difference between a lateral thinker and a vertical thinker. The people in Rome were primarily lateral [not Lateran] thinkers.

Ricky! I've never needed

Ricky!
I've never needed anything in my life, that it has not been provided! I'd just finished reading, again, a poem that I posted on another topic and I was crying, like "one of them women!" I don't know what I did, but this was suddenly on my screen! Just exactly what I needed.
Most of it I don't understand but God knew I needed a laugh!
Thank you and God bless you always!

The Synod of Bishops was an

The Synod of Bishops was an international gathering of biblical scholars, both in the Catholic Church and special invited members from the Christian and Jewish communities. While Dr. Scott Hahn is known here in the United States for his scriptural commentaries and books---I don't believe that he is that well known on the international stage. At one point during the Synod, I did have a listing of all who had been invited to participate, but I did not see his name mentioned. And I believe it is just for the reasons that I have given.
