Hole in the World Tonight

I don't really have anything to say but this tonight, a prayer by the Eagles:

There's a hole in the world tonight.
There's a cloud of fear and sorrow.
There's a hole in the world tonight.
Don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow.

They say that anger is just love disappointed.
They say that love is just a state of mind,
but all this fighting over who will be anointed.
Oh how can people be so blind

[Chorus:]
There's a hole in the world tonight.
There's a cloud of fear and sorrow.
There's a hole in the world tonight.
Don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow.

Oh they tell me there's a place over yonder,
Cool water running through the burning sand,
until we we learn to love one
another we will never reach the promised land.

[Chorus:]
There's a hole in the world tonight.
There's a cloud of fear and sorrow.
There's a hole in the world tonight.
Don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow.

Since we seem to be into

Since we seem to be into lyrics, here is my contribution that seems to be ad rem to AnnieO's thread theme:

THERE’S A PLACE
There’s a place on this earth for us all
If there’s peace in my heart where I dwell
When the good that I feel‘s from the deed that I do
It’s the start of the world that I need

When the child takes a drink from your cup
And the girl drops the stone she would throw
And you do the same when you meet at the wire
It’s the start of the world that you need

There’s a place on this earth for us all
If there’s love in your heart where you dwell
And the good that you feel’s from the deed that you do
It’s the start of the world that you need

If there’s truth it’s a beautiful flower
My belief’s but one petal I’m sure
If it’s like that for me, it is also for you
‘Cause we’re joined at the soul you and I

There’s a place on this earth for us all
If there’s love in our hearts you and me
And the good that we feel’s from the deeds that we do
It’s the start of the world we all need.

AnneO I clicked here to find

AnneO
I clicked here to find out "what else is difficult" and found Dennis. Dennis is fun! He knows about "Pong Brain."
I read your offering of Eagles lyrics and decided that I would share with you, a lyric, written and dedicated to my grandson Arran, on the occaision of his birth.

Would he be white?
Would he be yellow, red, or black?
Would he be right?
Would he be off the beaten track?
Would he be all the lovely children of the earth?
And would it take a thousand lifetimes,
Just to understand his worth?

Would he be meek?
Would he be humble in your sight?
Would he be bold?
Would he be frightened of the night?
Would he be every sunny day you'll ever see?
Or is it past your understanding?
Would he be you! Or would he be me!

Oh! Follow me now!
We must teach our children all that they must know!
I don't know how!
But we must search our hearts and minds to find
The ways to help them grow!

Would he be rain?
Would he be sunlight on your eye?
Would he be cloud?
Flying across a clear blue sky?
Would he be every Summer sunset of your time?
Would he have Peace, Love , and understanding?
Would he be yours,... or would he be mine?

I pray that "the hole" is smaller. However slightly so.

Perhaps the discussion

Perhaps the discussion should progress to something like:

What are the holes?

What can we do?

How can we be the one voice that will make a difference today?

AnnieO ~ It is difficult to

AnnieO ~ It is difficult to contribute to a thread like yours, but I suspect that there are many visitors here who simply read and sighed at the lyrics. Yes, "There's a hole in the world tonight". It will still be there tomorrow but I guess the question is, whether I have done anything to make it whole, and whether I did it in a way that might encourage someone else to do the same.
