A Law Unto Themselves ?

The April 4 th Issue of NCR contains a most significant article by Laura LLoyd entitled , ' A Passion to Restore the Rule of Law '. A Navy Officer assigned to defend a Guantanamo Bay detainee won a Supreme Court ruling for fair treatment of his client and saw his efforts circumvented as well as his being forced out of the service. This defender's courage is exemplary. We cannot allow our leaders get away with calling the law whatever they feel it is for the expedience of their agenda. Many people are being abused.

Young Catholics. Where is
Young Catholics. Where is our leadership when we see three things going on in the church namely the lack of ministry for young Catholics,the dearth of laborers in the harvest and the spiralling cost of Catholic education.
If you received a catholic education you give back a year or two years to teaching in catholic school,working in a christian ministry or in a Christian mission. We have the example of the Mormons and the federal government. Some Europeans take a year after college to go around the world. Why not go round the world with a mission? People need to escape the 'jail' of college 'fun' life. Continuation of the same 'fun life' is not a good beginning of real life. Some Catholic colleges have programs,why not make it a coming out party honored by a national ceremony.
