Let us have a grand celebration as an initial incentive. Strike up the band and may the brass and percussion prevail! May the crowd sing! May the dancers spin! May the acrobats vault! Clock the swimmers. Time the runners. Unfurl the flags. Flow the banners. Launch the fireworks. Pass the tray. Pour the bottle. Look up at the stars! Let us remember the gift of our planet! Let us remember that we are a part of this quasi-unfathomable cosmos! Let us honor our stewardship! Let us step forward to accept our chosen assignments to help restore the planet. Let us gather again in a year’s time for a progress celebration. “Good night and good luck.”
